Jo Berrry attends Youth Against Violent Extremism in Norway

Youth Against Violent Extremism Conference 2015

In early June 2015, the Norwegian government hosted a two-session conference on countering violent extremism (CVE) in Oslo.  The event was organised by the UK-based Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD).

The first session showcased the work of civil society projects from around the world, and later held working session discussions that included gender perspectives and the role of young people in CVE. Jo Berry spoke about the work of Building Bridges for Peace

On the second day European government and local authority representatives met to discuss the work of these organisations in the European context.

The aim of the two-day conference was to gather the opinions and thoughts of people that work on CVE every day at grass-roots level, and to present these to an audience of policy-makers and politicians from around the world.
