Today, we are delighted to welcome Dr Imad Karam as the new  Executive Director of Building Bridges for Peace.

Imad brings with him a remarkable depth of experience in building dialogue, understanding, and reconciliation across divides. Through his work as a filmmaker, peacebuilder, and global advocate for empathy and justice, he has shown how storytelling and human connection can transform even the most challenging conflicts. Imad brings a wealth of international experience in peacebuilding, storytelling, and cross-cultural dialogue. A respected filmmaker and advocate for reconciliation, he has dedicated his career to amplifying human stories that inspire empathy and understanding across divides.

I am deeply inspired by Building Bridges for Peace’s mission to heal divides and foster reconciliation in communities affected by conflict. Its vision of transforming conflict through empathy and human connection resonates strongly with my own personal and professional journey in peacebuilding and intercultural collaboration. Having spent over two decades leading initiatives that promote trust, understanding, and inclusive collaboration across cultures, I am passionate about contributing to an organisation whose values so profoundly mirror my own. I am honoured to contribute my experience to furthering BBP mission and expanding its global impact—helping create a peaceful world rooted in justice, compassion, and equal rights. Dr Imad Karam
